Rehoboth Beach, USA: A small private plane mistakenly flew into restricted airspace over President Joe Biden’s beach house on Saturday (Sunday in Manila), prompting his security guards to briefly move him, and the first lady, to a safe location, the White House said. .
“The president and first lady are safe and there was no attack,” a White House official said of the incident in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, about 200 miles away ( 120 miles) east of Washington.
Biden and first lady Jill Biden then returned to their residence, the official said.
The Secret Service, tasked with protecting the president, said the plane mistakenly entered a secure area and was “immediately escorted out”.
Among other errors, this pilot was not on the correct radio channel and “did not follow published flight instructions”, Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi said.
“US Secret Service will interview the pilot,” he added.
