DAWN BEACH — The nation’s hospitality industry is set to get a boost when the Westin St. Maarten Dawn Beach Resort and Spa begins operating under the luxurious JW Marriott brand, which is expected to go live beginning in November 2023.

JW Marriott is a luxury hotel brand owned by Marriott International. A notification about the rebranding sent to timeshare owners said the hotel’s redevelopment was well underway. “The demolition process is ongoing. The estimated soft opening date for the hotel is November 2023,” the notification reads.
The new hotel will have 203 rooms and similar amenities to the previous hotel, the notification said.
“We will be sharing photos of the construction progress as we go, just like we did with the construction of DBC [Dawn Beach Resort] until after Hurricane Irma. Thank you all for patiently trusting us and helping us find the perfect fit for our world-class location. It’s exciting to know that your condominium will now be adjacent to St. Maarten’s most luxurious hotels: the JW Marriott St. Maarten. »
The notification stated that the developer had planned a price increase for all remaining Dawn Beach Club inventory across all tiers. “This will ensure that our three-bedroom prices are aligned with nightly hotel room rates per season.”
Marriott Hotels and Resorts is the full-service hotel and resort brand of Marriott International based in Bethesda, Maryland. As of June 30, 2020, there were 582 hotels and resorts with 205,053 rooms operating under the brand, in addition to 160 hotels with 47,765 rooms slated for development.
