Perdido Beach Resort Named to Inc.’s 2021 Best in Business List
List recognizes private companies that put purpose before profit

Perdido Beach Resort was named to Inc. Magazine’s 2021 Best Companies list in the Travel & Hospitality category. The list, which can be found in the winter issue of Inc. magazine (on newsstands December 14), recognizes small and medium-sized private American companies that have had an outstanding impact on their communities, industries, the environment or the society as a whole.
“The Best in Business awards recognize companies that have gone above and beyond to make a positive impact,” said Scott Omelianuk, editor of Inc. “What started for us during the pandemic as an effort to showcase businesses that were helping the community has become a recognition of the social, environmental and economic impact.
“The companies on this year’s list are changemakers with a heart – and they pour the best of their business into the people and communities around them,” he added.
Rather than relying on quantitative criteria related to sales or financing, the publishers of Inc. reviewed the recipient companies’ achievements over the past year and noted how they have made a positive difference in the world. They then selected winners from more than 49 different industries – from finance and software to engineering and fashion.
The applicant pool was extremely competitive and the acceptance rate was below 10 figures. Inc. is the world’s most trusted business media brand, reaching over 50 million people every month across different channels. The global recognition that comes with inclusion on the list places recipients in an exclusive community.
Located along the Gulf of Mexico, Perdido Beach Resort offers contemporary rooms and suites with furnished balconies, an indoor and outdoor pool, private beach and dock. Other amenities include a fitness center, tennis courts, two bars, and free parking. Guests can stay in one of 344 rooms and party in 9,000 square feet of exhibition space.
The crown jewel of PBR’s four restaurants is Voyagers, where executive chef Chef Brody Olive (pictured) uses only fresh ingredients, prepared simply and beautifully so the flavors in the food shine. Its aged beef choices are seared at 1,800 degrees to lock in the flavor and juiciness of the meat. It serves only the highest quality, locally sourced Gulf seafood.
Chef Brody has received numerous accolades, including numerous Wine Spectator and Wharf Uncorked blue ribbons. He also received the Chef of the Year award from the Alabama Restaurant & Hospitality Association.
He prepared a special menu to ring in the new year at PBR. The evening includes a rolling dinner party, dancing, live music from The Mixed Nuts and champagne at midnight.
