Ideal for couples seeking romance and families seeking adventure – the beachfront property offers 158 guest rooms, suites, and villas, with room sizes ranging from 430 to 829 square feet. Couples can lounge in the resort’s villas with a private plunge pool – perfect for honeymooners. Shortly after opening, families traveling with children will also be able to enjoy a new Coral Kids’ Club, which will include a playground and game room.
The redesign of the resort was designed by Bangkok-based Santhaya & Associates (S + A), an award-winning architectural firm and partner of Outrigger since 2013 for projects in Thailand, Fiji and Mauritius.
The designs of the Outrigger Khao Lak Beach Resort were inspired by the local environment. Sophie Bughin, Partner at Santhaya & Associates, said: “As designers of this project, our goal is for clients to feel a seamless connection between sea, sand and the lush tropical landscape. We combine local culture, a sense of discovery and functionality. such as textured prints and canoe designs. Our goal is to create a feeling of serenity, endless horizons and oneness with nature.
Outrigger Khao Lak Beach Resort has a large landscaped garden in the middle of the resort. The garden leads down to the beachside pool and then to rows of casuarinas and over 3.5 miles of unbroken fine sand at Bang Sak Beach.
New culinary highlights also adorn the property, including the new beachfront Edgewater Bar & Grill, which features poolside lounge chairs, sofas, daybeds, tropical swings, mood lighting and music. A relaxed atmosphere and a menu with favorite Western and Asian dishes have been designed to delight house guests as well as other beach vacationers. The large open kitchen will showcase chefs at work.
