Mariposa Beach Resort continues to support Placencia community with golf cart donation to police

By Aaron Humes: The Placencia Police Department sub-training received the donation of a golf cart from Mariposa Beach Resort owner Lewis Blanchard on Thursday to help them patrol the tourist strip and provide community policing.

Deputy Superintendent of Police and Commander Alma Mortis hailed Mariposa’s latest donation and commitment to assisting cops in the popular tourist destination: “…over the past year, Mariposa has donated equipment , school supplies for community services, meals for officers over many vacations, organized officer support events, and helped furnish the police department.Plus, when we needed help painting the backs of donkey in the area they bought the yellow traffic paint and their staff took care of painting the speed bumps all over the area We are very lucky to have the help of Mr Lewis and all the Mariposa team.

“Businesses should be part of the community because we are all one community and therefore we help out whenever possible,” Blanchard said. “We have an amazing team who love to get involved and help the community and great guests who participate in our Pack for a Cause program bringing school supplies for the kids and smoke detectors for the elderly and others in need. .

As a responsible corporate citizen, Mariposa staff also provided medical services and equipment to the Placencia Fire Department, Placencia Health Clinic and Hummingbird Health Group. In addition, the Placencia Humane Society received assistance for rooms needed by veterinarians to help care for local animals.
