(BIVN) – Kealoha Beach Park in Keaukaha will be closed next week.
The Hawaii County Parks and Recreation Department announced Wednesday that James Kealoha Beach Park will be closed Monday, Aug. 8 through Friday, Aug. 12 to repave the park’s roadway and parking areas. “While work is weather dependent, every effort will be made to avoid delays in reopening the park,” officials said.
From Hawaii County:
The park’s one-way traffic pattern will be reinstated upon reopening, coupled with a new reverse-angle parking system throughout the park. Reverse angle parking requires all vehicles to be backed into marked locations and is implemented to complement the one-way traffic pattern, improve the safety of maneuvering vehicles into and out of parking spaces and for increased safety people loading/unloading their parked vehicles as well as those using the park. In addition, signs will be placed throughout the park to advise park users on the proper use of parking spaces and to identify areas where parking is prohibited.
“Thank you for your understanding during this brief closure as we work to improve this valuable recreational resource,” the county news release added.
