Florida Welcomes Bellwether Beach Resort

Operated by Benchmark, the project is housed in an iconic tower that has been a fixture of St Pete Beach on the west coast of the Sunshine State since the 1970s.

Bellwether Beach Resort is the newest independent beachfront hotel, and the first in over a decade, to open in St. Pete Beach, Florida.

A trendy arrival

Designed to be a trendsetter in this privileged setting, Bellwether Beach Resort combines retro-Florida and modern-chic style with exciting culinary offerings and top-notch service. Its lobby, characterized by mid-century furnishings, terrazzo tiles, aqua tones, and views of the Gulf of Mexico, displays vintage artwork celebrating 1960s beach getaways.

Property amenities range from indoor and outdoor lounges to an oceanfront pool deck with nearby bistro seating for alfresco dining; cabanas frequented by Bellwether’s dedicated beach butlers also dot the white-sand beach beyond the main hotel building. However, much of the focus here is on the resort’s dining experiences, which include Spinners Rooftop Grille, Level 11 Rooftop Bar & Lounge, Bongo’s Beach Bar & Grille, and St Pete Social.

“The initial vision for Bellwether Beach Resort began over three years ago when the current owners of the hotel purchased the property,” said Jay Rochevice president of operations for Bellwether Beach Resort, which is owned by subsidiaries of Gencom and managed by Benchmark.

“The awe-inspiring beachfront location, unique restaurant location, and the tower’s long history in this exceptional city all became key inspirational elements for what we knew this property could become. As we open our doors and begin to welcome guests to our little piece of paradise, we are proud to highlight all that Bellwether will offer to this community and those who visit it.

Attractive accommodation and exciting dining

Guests are accommodated in 156 rooms and suites in bright colors like tangerine and lime green, as well as private balconies offering city and sea views. These rooms have one or two king-size beds.

The hotel’s most exclusive accommodation is its six penthouses, designed to showcase a modern take on retro Florida. Multi-room, multi-level floor plans include oversized bathrooms and are distinguished by plush furnishings and floor-to-ceiling windows with shoreline views.

The Spinners Rooftop Grille sits atop the building and offers a menu of sustainably sourced seafood, cuts of beef and locally grown greens in a space with 360-degree views, while the rooftop lounge bar open-air Level 11 Rooftop Bar & Lounge sits on the ground below and serves sunset cocktails, small bites, and desserts.

These scenic venues are joined by Bongo’s Beach Bar & Grille on the sand, offering a casual beachfront dining experience for lunch and dinner, and St Pete’s Social for morning coffees, late-afternoon cocktails. noon and fast food.

Bellwether Beach Resort also has 10,000 square feet of indoor/outdoor event space that can accommodate up to 150 attendees.
