Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort’s Aruba elements create the perfect getaway

Tired of two years of pandemic crisis, more and more travelers are looking for anti-stress vacation options in the Caribbean. As a reasonably priced, small-scale hotel with spacious, tasteful rooms located steps from a serene white-sand beach, the Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort Aruba clearly delivers.

Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort offers guests everything they need to achieve a relaxing hot weather getaway. The resort’s beachfront restaurant offers alfresco dining on Eagle Beach, widely considered one of the best beaches in the Caribbean (classroom as the fifth best in the world for 2022 by TripAdvisor).

In a charming nod to Aruba’s status as a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the 72-room European-plan property features clean and colorful Dutch colonial architecture, with richly colored buildings and courtyards primaries on white accents.

An outdoor bar on the spacious terrace on the second level of the low-rise hotel courtyard faces the beach and offers panoramic views of joggers, dog walkers, and sun-worshippers. Dining at Amsterdam Manor’s beachfront restaurant offers another alfresco experience along the serene 2km waterfront.

The resort is also located minutes from an array of iconic Aruba activities, from all-terrain mountain biking adventures in Arikok National Park, beach excursions and cultural activities in Oranjestad, the historic capital of Aruba.

Here are three key elements that make Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort Aruba the perfect Caribbean getaway:

Beauty by the sea

Almost every aspect of the resort emphasizes its proximity to one of the best beaches in the Caribbean. Horizons Bar is located on a second-level terrace above the resort’s colorful courtyard, facing Eagle Beach and overlooks the western sky. This is a great place to watch a typical Aruba sunset with an end-of-day cocktail.

Passions on the Beach is an open-air restaurant and beach bar on a spacious wooden deck built directly along Eagle Beach. Here, guests can dine barefoot while they enjoy breakfast, lunch, or dinner at the open-air bistro, which is open (and popular with) travelers from all over Aruba.

The terrace has been revamped with wooden floors, locally made vibrant blue umbrellas and new contemporary furniture. The Passions beach bar was recently expanded to double its previous size, creating more spacious seating.

Patrons of Passions on the Beach can also opt for a romantic dinner right on the beach amid the soft glow of tiki torches as the ocean waves lap calmly against the shore.

Updated hosting

A handful of Amsterdam Manor’s 72 studios and suites are in the final stages of a major upgrade. Completed rooms feature new furnishings in lighter tones, custom mosaic floor tiles, photos and murals, and crafts created by local artists.

Each room has a fully equipped kitchen, new larger bathrooms and new lighting. The accommodations also have improved ventilation systems designed to regulate humidity and CO2 levels, improving air quality.

Amsterdam Manor Beach Resort operators are committed to environmental responsibility and sustainability, participating in monthly beach cleanups and supporting non-governmental organizations in conservation programs designed to protect local species of nesting sea turtles eggs on their Eagle Beach habitat.

The resort also uses “reusable cups” to reduce the use of single-use plastic cups on the property. Solar heaters and insulated doors have been installed throughout the property and colored awnings have been installed to minimize the sun’s rays.

Easy access

Guests arriving in Aruba at Princess Juliana International Airport enjoy a brief 15-minute transfer to the resort by taxi. Downtown Oranjestad is also located a short taxi ride from the property, as are many of Aruba’s signature activities. The resort’s friendly concierge staff is able to provide reservations with tour operators and other transportation and service providers.

A three-night stay in a 770-square-foot one-bedroom suite in late May is $1,597. The suites include a separate bedroom with a king-size bed and a connecting bathroom with a shower. In addition to a fully equipped kitchen, the accommodations also feature dining and living areas, a trundle bed for two, front and back entrances, and a private terrace with pool or ocean views.

The Aruba government has removed all COVID-related entry requirements for all international travelers effective March 19. Travelers to the country should always complete an Aruba Embarkation/Disembarkation Pass prior to arrival and visitors should always purchase Aruba Visitors Insurance before entering the country.
