Travel between St. Maarten and St. Barts has never been so comfortable

A ferry trip between St. Maarten and St. Barts takes approximately 45 minutes, and now travelers can make the voyage aboard a ferry owned by one of the Caribbean's yachting legends Sir Bobby Velasquez.

The Great Bay Express (GBE) is one of St. Maarten/St. Barts newest ferry operations. Shantiwa, GBE's main vessel was built in Lousiana, flies the Antiguan flag, and operates out of Bobby's Marina in Philipsburg, St. Martin. This ferry was built expressly for trips through the Caribbean, so the aluminum 65-inch mono-hull can withstand whatever resistance the Sea throws its way.

Shantiwa features two outdoor decks, one of which is covered, indoor seating, and air-conditioning. There is room to accommodate 130 seated passengers.
